‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Why Fans Worry TLC Will Cancel Show

When the show began, it focused on Amy and Tammy Slaton as they navigated the world while struggling with weight-related issues. Five seasons later, they’ve both received bariatric surgery and have increased mobility. Now, the show has expanded to focus on their siblings too.

Since so much has changed over time, some viewers are worried TLC will pull the plug on the series.

Will TLC Cancel 1000-Lb Sisters Anytime Soon?

In the past, there’s been some concern among fans about TLC canceling 1000-Lb Sisters. From Caleb Willingham’s death to Amy Slaton’s child endangerment arrest, there have been many scandals that put the show in jeopardy.

And after five seasons, some viewers are worried the series might be coming to an end.

“Can this keep going??” a 1000-Lb Sisters viewer shared on Reddit. “Do we think there’s another season in this show? I think producers set up the UK visit to make this season work tbh. I could be completely wrong… This is just an observation and I for one will be gutted if they axe the show. But I’m not sure how much more they can wring the cloth so to speak. Would love others’ views on the matter and hope the show can keep running cuz it’s my guilty pleasure.”

Viewers Feel Confident The Family Will Be Back Next Year

Other Redditors put the OP’s fears to rest. 1000-Lb Sisters is one of TLC’s most profitable shows. And if the network can keep Sister Wives alive for 19 seasons, there’s plenty of life left in 1000-Lb Sisters.

Comments included:

  • “Amy’s arrest, Amanda’s break up with the Florida guy, I’m sure they can keep it going another season…”
  • “If TLC has kept flailing Sister Wives for this long then they absolutely will keep dragging out the siblings saga. They’re at least in the period of still getting out and doing things and there’s so much potential for massive drama there.”
  • “It would go much farther if they actually had the show be reality. Like Amy’s arrest and bad boyfriends and all the crazy with Amanda going to Florida and moving back. Instead it’s all created for tv now. They are missing the messy element that made it fun and crazy.”
  • “Amanda said on her live she was under NDA because of filming the other day and Tammy wrote a post on her socials the other day saying she was filming this week. So yeah, definitely will be another season.”
