General Hospital spoilers and rumors reveal that the Cassadines took back Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) divorce settlement from Nicholas Cassadine (Adam Hus). But which one was it?
Nicholas is still in prison, and Victor and Spencer Cassadine (Charles Shaunessy, Nicholas Alexander Chavez) are dead. Was it Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stewart)? It was never revealed who bought Windermere, which was part of Ava’s settlement from Nicholas.
It was supposed to have been razed and condos built, but when Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havens) was desperate to get Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlet Fernandez) back, she broke in and told Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) she had a lead. Valentin left a clue—the castle and the grounds are still intact even over a year later.
Perhaps Valentin did leave a clue, or technically Charlotte did—just not a clue to their current location. Lulu found a box of keepsakes from when Charlotte was a little girl. Wouldn’t she have had those when she lived with Lulu and Dante?
The box could be a clue that Valentin was the one who bought Windermere and the island and that they’d lived there for a while undetected.
Valentin and Nicholas fought over the Cassadine legacy, but this was when Valentin thought Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) was his father.
It turned out he wasn’t—Victor was his father, and Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) his mother. So Nicholas actually was the true heir since his father was dead.
It would make sense, with Nicholas incarcerated, for Valentin to take the property back and Ava’s settlement as well, especially since his own assets were frozen by the Quartermaines.
One couldn’t expect Valentin to go on the run with Charlotte with no money for several months.
Besides, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) led about Valentin making a financial transaction in Zurich, which fits the timeframe. He obviously was draining Ava’s bank accounts.
The big question is: will Ava, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and Spinelli put two and two together? Will Ava even talk to anyone about this and realize Valentin’s the only Cassadine left who could take away her settlement?
Nicholas has neither power in prison nor contacts on the outside who would do that. He has no heir other than Ace Prince Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay). Nicholas would have no reason to take back Ava’s settlement or Windermere or the island, even if he could.
It’s a simple process of elimination combined with Valentin’s financial transactions in Zurich to solve the case.
