“Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support” said Selleck, “CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye to it“. While that may be true, CBS has nevertheless canceled the series after season 14.
In other news, Blue Bloods season 14 will feature an original cast member’s return as Jennifer Esposito will appear in the series once again after her season 13 cameo.
Esposito played the role of Detective Jackie Curatola throughout the first three seasons of the popular procedural, and she will now make a one-episode appearance in season 14. In the new season’s second episode, Detective Curatola will return to help Danny Reagan take on a dangerous serial killer.

Blue Bloods season 14 officially returns for its premiere on February 16th, 2024. This delay comes many months after the Hollywood strikes put programs on hold, and CBS’ fall slate was especially affected. The release date announcement comes in conjunction with the reveals of many other show’s premiere dates, and February 2024 will be a particularly busy time for season returns.
The WGA strike was resolved on September 27th, 2023, and the SAG-AFTRA strike was resolved on November 9th, 2023.
Unlike previous seasons, Blue Bloods season 14 will be split into two parts, with the first debuting in February, and the second arriving sometime in Fall 2024. Though the exact return date for the second half of the season hasn’t been revealed, the first half will consist of 10 episodes, and the second half will have eight.
