Going, Going, Gabi? Days of Our Lives’ Cherie Jimenez Addresses Exit Rumors

Gabi has always been a force to be reckoned with on Days of Our Lives, but lately, as she’s dealt with Rafe’s swap and an adorably smoldering reunion with JJ, she’s been on fire. In fact, ever since Gabi returned from prison, she’s hit the ground running.

It hasn’t always been easy for Cherie Jimenez, though, with some fans taking to bullying over Gabi’s recasting, not even wanting to give her a chance after Camila Banus left the role she’d played for 13 years. But that didn’t shake the actress when it came to loving her job and playing Gabi, and Jimenez has more than made the character her own in her time with the show.

Heck, we never thought we’d be excited to see Gabi and JJ back together again, but here we are! So just the thought of Jimenez exiting the role after less than a year?? Say it ain’t so!

Fortunately, she did.

In fact, Jimenez addressed the rumor directly over on Twitter/X, saying it was time to squash that rumor “right now by letting y’all know I’m not going anywhere. I love playing Gabi and everyone at Days.”

And from the relief and excitement in the replies to her tweet, it looks like the fans have more than warmed up to Jimenez as Gabi.

As she told Soaps.com back when she first joined the show (well, back when she first started airing after months of joining the show, thanks to Days of Our Lives shooting so far in advance), “I feel incredibly blessed to be in this position and to have the opportunity to be on such an iconic show.”
