The Young and the Restless

Young & Restless Preview: Tuesday’s Special Sharon/Phyllis Episode ‘Fixes’ a Major Problem

After The Young and the Restless’ Phyllis spent weeks believing that Sharon had murdered her son’s girlfriend — and she really had framed him — there would be no going back to whatever passes for normal for the two of them. Not unless something drastic happened. And as luck would have it, it is happening.

Both Phyllis and Sharon have been abducted — yes, again for Sharon, who somehow survived days chained up in a Wisconsin sewer in sheer partywear — and what happens next largely hinges on them.

In the Tuesday, February 25, episode, they have to decide whether or not to put their mutual loathing aside in hopes of escaping their predicament or… well, basically die trying. (See also: Sheila and Lauren.)

Something tells us that Young & Restless isn’t going to kill off either Sharon Case or Michelle Stafford’s character.

But the turn of events may pave the way for future interactions between the frenemies who at times have been downright civil. (Hey, they did run Restless Style with a Who’s Who of their favorite occasional husbands.)

More: Whoa… now *that* was a slap!

As it was, “there was nowhere for Phyllis and Sharon to go,” Stafford tells TV Insider. “Something had to happen from that.

There’s no way Phyllis is ever going to say, ‘Oh, it’s OK that you hid the bloody towels’… and no way that Sharon is going to be OK with not being forgiven and just moving on.

“When they see each other, it would be difficult,” she adds. “So, I think this story that we’re doing really fixes that.” Good thing, too, considering Phyllis loves to get a cuppa joe at Sharon’s coffeehouse.
