Soap icon Eric Braeden, known far and wide as the indomitable Victor Newman on Young and the Restless, has proven once again that he’s just as much of a fighter off-screen as he is on it.

The 83-year-old actor took to Instagram to deliver the kind of update fans have been hoping for…he’s tough, he’s strong, and he’s going to keep showing the world he’s tough!

Still Standing, Still Strong

In April 2023, Braeden shocked viewers when he revealed his diagnosis of bladder cancer. The news sent shockwaves through the soap community, but if there’s one thing fans know about Victor Newman, it’s that surrender simply isn’t in his vocabulary.

Sporting a sweatsuit and his boxing gloves, Braeden beamed in a short boxing video where he dominated the punching bag. His message was simple: “Eff cancer! 84 and going!!”

True to form, he’s not slowing down. Braeden hinted that he’s feeling stronger by the day, and his on-screen presence has remained steady. Victor Newman is still wheeling, dealing, and threatening to destroy anyone who dares cross him in Genoa City. Fans who feared he might step back from the role can breathe a sigh of relief.
